| Dear Friends,
This year I am riding the El Tour de Tucson for a child. What does that mean? I have chosen to Ride for a Child and raise funds for Tu Nidito Children and Family Services, a special agency who supports children as they battle serious medical conditions or grief.
Each year Tu Nidito helps more than 800 children who are grieving a death loss, who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness or who have a parent diagnosed with cancer. It seems so sensible that children and families would not have to go through these difficult times alone. But without Tu Nidito, many families would. In Southern Arizona, there is no other agency proving on-going support services to these children and their families.
Without Tu Nidito, without El Tour and without you –
these kids would have nowhere to turn.
Andres is a funny, sensitive, intelligent, and somewhat shy ten-year-old, but he still loves to have fun! He loves playing video games and Pokemon cards and figurines.
Andres and his family began meeting with a Tu Nidito social worker after his brother Luis was diagnosed with a brain tumor. As a shy child, he wasn’t always comfortable talking about his brother’s condition. Andres’ mother said that now he is able to talk about his fears and concerns more openly. |
