Beartooth Recreational Trails Association's Fundraising Page
The Beartooth Recreational Trails Association (BTRA) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of non-motorized trails in and around Red Lodge, MT. We were created in 2002 by folks with a vision of opening up old trails and helping create new ones along the Beartooth Front for cross-country skiers, bicyclers, horsemen, and hikers. We took over operation of the Red Lodge Nordic Center in 2004 and continue to operate with all volunteers. We have steadily improved operations there (two miles west of downtown Red Lodge) with the generosity and support of the landowners of the Aspen Ridge Ranch. Recently BRTA has become involved with Red Lodge's city trails system-Rocky Fork Trails-helping with planning, construction, maintenance, and grant-writing. BRTA has several fundraisers every year (we operate on donations and grants), and the Red Lodge Fun Run for Charities is an opportunity for the BRTA to participate in the premiere fund raising event in the Red Lodge area. We look forward to assisting with the Run, and are especially grateful for the generosity and support from our community. Donations to BRTA are used to purchase, maintain, and operate modern machinery for grooming the Red Lodge Nordic Ski Area and the West Fork Forest Service Road, pay for liability insurance, advertise events, lease land, obtain permits, host events, and promote trail planning and construction in the Red Lodge area.
