| Fun, developmental programs and caring staff have made the Clubhouse a favorite hang-out for youth of all ages. Growth continues at record pace - in the past 18 months, membership has tripled. In 2008, the Club served 300 youth who came to the Club more than 7200 times! Our staff and board members are excited to invite you to come by and experience the amazing positive energy throughout the Clubhouse.
The Club is open to 1st-12th graders and offers developmental programming in five core areas: Character & Leadership Development; Education & Career Development; Health & Life Skills; Arts & Culture; and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. Within each of these areas, the Club implements special activities to maximize opportunities for young people to acquire the "four basic senses:" a sense of competency; usefulness; belonging; and influence. Development of these senses, resulting in increased positive self-image, has shown to be valuable in decreasing dropout rates, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, and criminal activity, while helping to achieve outcomes such as: a positive self-identity; educational, employment, emotional and cultural competencies; community and civic involvement; health and well-being; and a moral compass.
Through goal-oriented experiential learning, the Club creates an atmosphere to help youth gain a positive view of themselves in the world, enabling them to recognize and share their unique gifts with peers, their family and their community. The objective is to promote behavioral norms among members that reflect personal responsibility and respect for themselves, their environment and for others.
We are so very grateful to the Fun Run for Charities and all they have done to help improve our community and change the lives of our youth. Funding from this incredible event will be used to maintain the growth that we've experienced, expand programming, and reach out to serve even more children throughout Carbon County. Please join us in our mission and invest in the lives of our youth!
