Domestic and Sexual Violence Services of Carbon County (DSVS) serves survivors of domestic violence and their children, as well as survivors of sexual assault. DSVS services include a free and confidential 24-hour Helpline; emergency shelter, transport and food; hospital, police and court accompaniment; assistance in applying for restraining orders and for crime victim compensation; one-on-one crisis counseling and support groups. DSVS also engages in extensive outreach, training, educational and primary prevention activities with populations throughout Carbon County.
The Fun Run is a really important source of funding for our direct services, especially as the demand for our services grows. In the first six months of 2008, DSVS served 90 clients, which is a huge increase from 2007, when we served 104 clients over the entire year. Thank you for your support! |
