Philosophy & Mission
Radcliffe Creek School is an independent day school for children of average to above average intelligence with a diagnosed learning disability or other learning concerns. The school is structured for students between the ages of five and fourteen years old who demonstrate a weakness in reading, writing, spelling, math, organization and/or concentration.
The school provides a challenging academic program designed to meet the individual needs of children who benefit from alternative learning instruction. Radcliffe Creek School strives to create an environment in which each child can learn to use his or her strengths to balance his or her weaknesses, and acquire the necessary skills to become a competent, resourceful and independent learner.
Radcliffe Creek School is founded on the principle that every student can succeed. The strict focus of remediating the learning disability is achieved through the creation of individual goals and objectives that accommodate the specific needs of each child. The teachers at Radcliffe Creek School combine multi-sensory, hands-on teaching methods with small group instruction.
Providing the child with specific strategies and skills, the teachers encourage the child with a learning difference to be independent and more successful. The full-immersion environment at Radcliffe Creek School is enhanced by the commitment of the parents, the child, and the community. Such a collaborative effort compliments the child’s learning and helps to promote the individual talents of each child. |
