Dylan is 8 years old and has Neurofibromatosis also known as NF1. In the past he has suffered significant visual losses such as his depth perception, binocular and peripheral vision. He has had surgery for this but they were unable to restore his vision. He will require 2-3 more surgeries just to maintain alignment. Most recently he lost all the useful hearing on the right side. These are all nerve related and permenant.
He struggles daily to over come many obstacles including muscular, nutritional and neurological issues as well. Some of those issues are causing structural problems. He has scapular winging in both shoulders causing his chest wall to sink in and become deformed.
Dylan is part of the Racing 4 Research Team at The Children's Tumor Foundation and is raising awareness and money to help find a cure for Neurofibromatosis. He needs your help and together we can help thousands of kids who are affected by NF!
***Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow any where at any time and can cause brain tumors, deafness, bone deformaties,facial disfigurement, learning disabillities and cancer. There is no predictable course and there is no cure.
