The Rolex 24 Hours Race in Daytona Beach on January 30-31 has brought the Children’s Tumor Foundation in on a race car and has appointed me as a NF Hero to represent the Foundation. Please contribute anything you can to help us find a cure and to solve the NF puzzle.
Racing to Find a Cure for NF - Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona
The Children’s Tumor Foundation and Farnbacher Loles Racing have joined forces to develop a powerful fundraising initiative. Racing4Research raises money to benefit neurofibromatosis research through corporate sponsorship, individual donations, and fundraising by our NF Heroes. With more than just winning in mind, the #85 CTF Farnbacher Loles Porsche GT3 race team will race for 24 hours non-stop to help raise awareness and find a cure for NF. With your help we will solve the NF puzzle, one piece at a time, one lap at a time.
The money raised through Racing4Research will fund the Drug Discovery Initiative (DDI) program to increase the number of candidate NF drugs being tested, and therefore to increase the chances to find a cure for NF.
What Is NF?
Neurofibromatosis encompasses a set of distinct genetic disorders that cause tumors to grow along various types of nerves and, in addition, can affect the development of non-nervous tissues such as bones and skin. Neurofibromatosis causes tumors to grow anywhere on or in the body. NF affects one in every 3,000 births.
