| The Late Joe Shear was one of the winningest drivers in the midwest. He lost his battle with cancer in March of 1998 only six months after his final racing victory at Rockford Speedway. Joe had a heart for children suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Each year the ASA Midwest Tour hosts the Joe Shear Classic at Madison International Speedway in Madison, WI. Fans are given the opportunity to win replicated door panels from several of Joe Shear's former race cars. All money raised in the raffle is donated to Racing4Research. |
