| My name is Nicholas Biering. I am 10-years-old and I am in 4th grade at St. John’s Christian Academy. I like to play video games, ride bikes, play sports, ride four-wheelers, swim, go to Boy Scouts, go to church and spend time with my family.
I was born with lots of café-au-lait spots and began seeing doctors at Duke. I was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis when I was about 4. The tumors in my stomach make my stomach ache all the time. Sometimes my chest hurts too.
I am telling my story so that other children can relate to me and maybe feel better. I want people to understand NF and help by giving money for the researchers. I want to help them put the puzzle pieces together one piece at a time!
Nicholas is an NF Hero and working hard at being a normal 10-year-old. Join him at the Daytona Speedway or tune in to FOX and SPEED Channels on Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25 and watch the #85 Children’s Tumor Foundation team race for the checkered flag. This 24-hour endurance race is the toughest test of man and machine. Our goal is to finish the race – log the most amount of laps we can and raise money for NF research. No amount is too small. 100% of donation goes toward Children’s Tumor Foundation research programs. |
