On May 22nd, Dylan will be celebrating his 8th Birthday! He is so excited and has everything picked out. The place, the plates, the color of the napkins and even some of the presents :)
Unfortunately along with the planning of this celebration comes alot of heartache, fear and anxiety. We can't help but to be reminded that with each passing year, so goes a possibly healthier one.
In the past Dylan has suffered significant visual losses and most recently lost all the useful hearing on the right side. These are all nerve related and permanant.
He struggles daily to over come many obstacles including muscular, nutritional and neurological issues as well.
Because NF is preogressive and unpredictable, his future is uncertain
Although money can't buy security, it can buy hope and with hope, all things are possible!
Dylan is realizing the impact Neurofibromatosis is having on his life. His BIGGEST wish this year is to be as healthy as can be and to find a cure for NF!

We never imagined this for our child and hope and pray that someday our efforts will spare someone else's.
One of the hardest days was the one we told our little boy he has NF.

Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow any where at any time and can cause brain tumors, deafness, bone deformaties,facial disfigurement, learning disabillities and cancer. There is no predictable course and there is no cure.
