| Thank you for visiting Rosie's Fundraising page and for helping Rosie reach her BIG GOAL OF $13,000!! Please know that 100% of your donation will go to support the new Drug Discovery Initiative in helping to find a cure for NF, a devastating disorder that Rosie and so many others like her suffer from. It is our hope, that with your support, your generosity and your giving, donations will add up to great success! It’s kind and charitable people like you that can Fuel the Cure for NF; together we will win this race! Thank you for joining Rosie, Farnbacher Loles Racing and Children’s Tumor Foundation in this fight against Neurofibromatosis. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for Rosie and our family. Hopefully Rosie will be able to reach her personal fundraising goal and be rewarded by making it to the race in person!
Rosie looks like any other kid, now that she has put on some weight and grown back some hair! :) But, Rosie is a critically ill child that suffers from NF1. This disorder attacks the body with tumors and is the reason that she is currently on weekly chemotherapy (and has been for 15 months) for an inoperable brain tumor. She also has a life threatening condition called hydrocephalus, where fluid can build-up on the brain, she has excessive growth hormone issues and also has a disorder called central precocious puberty or CPP. She receives many kinds of treatment for her care.
Rosie has been battling her brain tumor/cancer and her other complications since her diagnosis in Sept. 2007. She has endured five brain surgeries, and two other surgeries over the last year. Rosie has been through more than most people experience in a lifetime. After the first round of chemo her tumor tripled in size and a new chemo regimen was immediately started. Rosie has had to suffer through well over 500 shots, she has had more MRIs and CT scans then she can count. But 4-year-old Rosie marches on; she has more courage, strength and fight in her then most. She is a joy to be around and captures many hearts with her warm smile. She is a little hero to so many, a true inspiration!
Thank you for helping Rosie make the race!!
Sincerely, The Coluccis
