| Last year, I lived with 125 teenage genocide survivors in a small village tucked in the terraced hills of Rubona, Rwanda. Those kids gave me the most exciting, challenging, rewarding, and undoubtedly wonderful year of my life. I wish I could be with them every day, so I’m trying my best to support them even when I can’t be physically present, and I could really use your help.
I'm setting up a donation box in my office. If you’re interested in doing the same, that’s terrific (the village has specific needs, so email me and I'll do anything you need to make it easy - bennawise@gmail.com).
I also need to raise some cash to ship everything to Rwanda (container shipments to Rwanda cost $10k annually), so I'll have a party with lots of beverages and tasty homemade treats to bribe all the SFers. Your donation there and/or here is SO much appreciated!
Thank you!!

| Race4Rwanda supports the children of the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV), a home, community and high school for orphans and other traumatized youth in Rwanda.
The ASYV seeks to “restore the rhythm of life” for these young people by providing them with care and education, preparing them to take on leadership roles in their society, and enabling them to mend the world around them.
The ASYV is a special project of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, a registered 501(C)3 nonprofit. All contributions are tax deductible. Learn more: www.asyv.org |
