Our goal is to support Organizations that directly support Patients affected by Cancer and their Families. Therefore our Primary Local Beneficiary is the Colorado Cancer Research Program. Additional Beneficiaries include the NHL Hockey Fights Cancer Initiative and Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation.
Colorado Cancer Research Program (CCRP) is a community-based cancer program partially funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) whose purpose is to ensure that community hospitals and their affiliated physicians have access to NCI-sponsored cancer clinical trials for the benefit of their cancer patients. Founded in 1983, Colorado Cancer Research Program (CCRP) is a consortium of 12 hospital partners, and more than 65 community oncologists who make cancer clinical trials available in Colorado. CCRP helps cancer patients throughout Colorado and parts of Wyoming with the most effective, cutting edge cancer treatments available. CCRP provides state of the art cancer clinical trials for patients through their own community oncologist, allowing them to stay within their own communities of care. Cancer clinical trials include treatment, symptom control, and cancer prevention. CCRP has an average of 65 clinical trials open at any time, representing all major types of cancer. Clinical trials are a primary method for medical research to advance and find new standards of care. Hockey Fights Cancer™ (HFC) is an initiative founded in December 1998 by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association to raise money and awareness for hockey's most important fight. The Hockey Fights Cancer initiative is supported by the National Hockey League Foundation, the NHL Foundation, NHL Players, NHL Member Clubs, NHL Alumni, the NHL Officials' Association, Professional Hockey Trainers and Equipment Managers, Corporate Marketing Partners, Broadcast Partners and Fans throughout North America. To date, the Hockey Fights Cancer programs of the National Hockey League Foundation (in the US) and the NHL Foundation (in Canada), along with NHL supporters and fans, have donated more than $16 million to support the cancer programs of National and Local Cancer Research Institutions, Children's Hospitals, Player Charities and Local Charities. The Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation is committed to serving the local hockey community and exists solely to aid those that have suffered financial hardship due to illness or injury. Members are dedicated to promoting the spirit of fellowship by supporting players and player’s families in high standards of health, wellness, and fair play in recreational hockey competitions while supporting league and team players in local community outreach. They specifically identify individuals and families in need, and strive to provide relief through difficult times. Starting in 2011, Dawg Nation has brought in over $1.4M and helped over 70 hockey families across the Rocky Mountain Region, from the weekend warrior needing assistance to pay his or her medical bills all the way to grieving families that have lost a loved one. Dawg Nation is not just there to help financially, but also physically, mentally and even spiritually. For more information about Dawg Nation Hockey Foundation, please visit www.dawgnation.org.
