The inagural Silverman Triathlon has teamed up with Project Sunshine to provide financial, material and volunteer support to organized non-profit camping programs in Nevada for children with critical or life altering illnesses and/or situations.
Whether they are critically ill or have a life altering illness or situation, these children need a time to be normal kids. They need a time to forget about the hospitals, doctors, the alienation, and the isolation. Camping provides an unforgettable and unique experience to these children whose exposure to the great outdoors may be minimal or non-existent. Camping is creative, recreational, and educational and contributes to each camper’s mental, physical and spiritual growth along with teaching them to believe in themselves and others. |
