| I am a survivor- and I am going to do something about it! I have been blessed beyond belief by excellent doctors, family, friends and Project Athena. The doctors cared for my brain tumor, my family cared for my emotional and physical state and Project Athena came along side and cared for my athletic part of life. I was so encouraged by the organization and specifically Melissa Cleary and Jonea Mounsey. You inspired me and gave me courage to set foot on the starting line of the PF Changs ½ marathon 8 months after surgery. I finished, I’m feeling great and my desire is to never forget what it was like to struggle through my recovery. I pray the empathy I hold for others contending with physical setbacks/ tragedies never leaves me.
I am honored and excited to transition from an Athenaship recipient to a Goddess! I can hardly wait to tackle the Grand Canyon!
