Team in Training
Think 26.2 is tough...try chemotherapy
Twenty years ago, a man named Bruce Cleland trained with a group of friends and ran the New York City Marathon in honor of his baby daughter Georgia, who had leukemia. They referred to themselves as the "team in training," and the name stuck.

Twenty years later, LLS's Team In Training (TNT) is the world’s largest endurance sports training program, providing coaching and support for people to cross the finish line at marathons, half marathons, triathlons and 100-mile cycling events. Over 360,000 participants have raised more than $850 million for lifesaving cancer research and to help blood cancer patients live longer, better lives.

The Western PA/WV Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is excited to be a part of the Pittsburgh marathon. To learn more about joining the Team at the Pittsburgh marathon, please call 412-395-2879. To learn more about Team in Training, please go to http://www.teamintraining.org/wpa/. Train - Endure - Achieve - Matter: Together that is what we are doing!

If you would like to make a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, $38 provides a prescription for anti-nausea medication, $54 one week of low grade chemotherapy and $115 provides a blood transfusion. Donations are 100% tax deductible and we thank you in advance for your generosity.
