Zack Hample's PIFB fundraising page
Zack snags. Everybody wins.
Thanks for donating to Pitch In For Baseball. I love this charity because it gives kids all over the world an opportunity to play ball. This is the third year that I've fundraised for PIFB, so the money is really adding up.
Founded in 2005, Pitch In For Baseball® (PIFB) is a registered 501(c)(3) not for profit organization (EIN #86-1141299) that provides new and gently used baseball and softball equipment to boys and girls in the United States and around the world who want to play ball but lack the equipment to do so. PIFB reduces barriers to play and promotes youth development by providing equipment directly to leagues, schools, and organizations around the world to start, continue, and/or expand their programs. Over the past 10 years, PIFB has donated more than $4 million worth of equipment to 400,000+ under-resourced kids in nearly every state in the U.S. and 80 different countries.

PIFB has four core programs:
- Domestic and International Equipment Grants – PIFB equipment grants are designed to help leagues, teams, and community organizations around the globe get the equipment needed to play baseball or softball. Grantees complete required annual reporting detailing the impact of our donation. PIFB averages about 200 projects each year.

- School Based Program – PIFB’s school based program helps schools and districts to stretch limited budgets. We partner with districts to help continue or expand their baseball and/or softball programs. PIFB has been working with the School District of Philadelphia since 2008. The project has grown from just 6 teams to 60+. In 2014, PIFB donated $100,000 worth of equipment to 63 baseball/softball programs in 41 different schools, helping more than 1,000 Philadelphia students get on the field. Our 2014 impact demonstrates that 60% of participants had better school attendance and 65% improved their grades. PIFB is replicating this model in Minneapolis/St. Paul school districts in Minnesota.

- Disaster Relief Program – In times of tragedy, children are the most affected. Baseball can help to restore a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos. PIFB has helped to rebuild entire leagues and thousands of kids to start their seasons on time. PIFB has assisted with relief efforts in NY/NJ shoreline following Hurricane Sandy; Joplin, MO; the Gulf Coast region; and Japan.

- Kids Helping Kids: Youth Philanthropy – About 90% of the equipment PIFB has available for equipment grants comes from the efforts of motivated, caring kids who run collections and fundraisers on PIFB’s behalf.
