The Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure® is the signature fundraiser of the Phoenix Affiliate. Since 1996, the Phoenix Affiliate has granted over $6.6 million to breast cancer treatment, education, prevention and outreach programs in Central and Northern Arizona, and over $2.2 million to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Award and Research Grant Program.
One way to make your miles count on Race day is to join Friends for the Cure® and raise pledges for the Phoenix Affiliate. Getting started is easy. You can set up your own Home page and invite family members, friends, and colleagues to make a pledge. You also have the opportunity to make a donation directly, whether or not you collect pledges. Fundraising is a great way to make a difference.
If each participant collects just $100 in pledges, we would raise more than $4 million to help in the fight against breast cancer!
In 2006, an estimated 212,920 women and 1,720 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 41,430 will lose their lives to this disease. Please help us eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
