Proceeds from the event will benefit the research initiatives of the International Myeloma Foundation and the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

What is Multiple Myeloma?
Mutiple Myeloma is an incurable blood cancer of the plasma cells, important cells of the immune system that produce and release antibodies to help fight infection. Multiple myeloma can be treated with chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant, but currently, there is no cure. Early, aggressive treatment can prolong survival.
How common is Multiple Myeloma?
Multiple myeloma is the second most prevalent blood cancer after non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The American Cancer Society estimated that 19,920 new cases would be diagnosed in 2008. There are more than 56,000 Americans living with
this disease.

Participant fundraising is the key to the success and most direct way to impact the search for a cure for multiple myeloma.
