Summer Camp! For the three of us, it was a much-anticipated part of each year. Ahhh, school's out! Let's have fun! Each of us has fond memories of summer camp: singing around a campfire, cooking s'mores, color war, jumping into a lake, telling scary stories by flashlight, and more. Every child should have a chance to go to camp! Whether it was a week or two at Girl Scout camp, an eight-week cross-country camping tour, or the whole summer away at an idyllic camp on a lake, summer camp provided unique experiences and unexpected friendships.
That's why we three, sponsored by our generous friend Andrew Greenebaum, are teaming up to ride 100 miles on Santa Monica Pier on June 5. There will be 100 bikes on the Pier, and hundreds of riders, joining together to raise $500,000 to send kids from 20 different inner-city schools to camp. At camp, the kids will experience nature and participate in diverse recreational programs designed to strengthen confidence and independence, build character, and develop leadership skills.
All of the proceeds from the event will go to the Harold Robinson Foundation which was established in 2006. Our team must raise at least $1500, and we'd love to raise even more! Thank you!
