| Dear Sports Camp Alumni: I'm sure that you ask yourselves all the time, what can I do to help. I'm only one person and the problems of the inner cities are too big. It is my belief that to be able to impact any change in social and economic paradigms you can't be overwhelmed by the tremendous need that exists. You start small and build, and continue to build until the change happens. I refuse to accept that we as individuals can't make a meaningful difference in the future of the under-served children in our communities. Sending kids to camp may not seem like the life line that is so desperately needed, but I can tell you from my own personal experience, and the testimony of teachers and parents whose children have been fortunate enough to participate in Canyon Creek Sports Camp retreats that it has had a tremendous impact on their kids and students. I believe that TOGETHER we can change lives. We have big goals for the Harold Robinson Foundation. There is so much we want to do. We want to eventually expand our mission but for now we are providing children, their families, and their teachers and principals what has proven to be a life changing experience. On Sunday, June 5th 2011 we have organized the 1st ever Pedal on the Pier at the Santa Monica Pier. It's going to be an amazing day with food, drink, entertainment, celebrity guests, DJ's, activities for the kids, massages and much, much more. Ideally I would love it if you registered for the event as a rider on my team but you can be just as effective raising money to keep our mission alive. Join us in changing the world one child at a time. Thanks in advance for your generosity and support. JB |
