Welcome to Team Hope's Website!
Team Hope was created to help raise awareness and
funding for Parkinson’s Disease research, and let those who are living
with Parkinson’s know we care and want to find a cure as much as they do.
My step-father Sheldon was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, a progressive
neurological disorder that slowly impairs motor skills, ones ability
to speak, and effects nearly one million people in the United States. As his
struggle to not let Parkinson’s take over his life has increased my need to take
action has also intensified. When a friend told me about a half-marathon in
Indianapolis I realized this would be my opportunity to do something. I
decided to participate in the half-marathon to raise awareness and funds for
Parkinson’s Disease research.
Since PD effects so many, directly and indirectly, I wanted to create a fundraising team enabling anyone interested in our cause the ability to help. So, with the help of my family, Team Hope was created to allow everyone the opportunity to support our goals to increase awareness and raise funds for Parkinson’s Disease
research.
We invite you to join Team Hope! Joining is easy and there are many ways to help: - make a contribution to help us reach our $1500 goal
- support Team Hope by directing your friends and family to this website
- create your own fundraising webpage linked to the team page by clicking on, “Join
this Fundraising Team”.
All donations go directly to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation
(http://www.pdf.org), a leading non-profit organization that funds promising
Parkinson’s research in hopes of finding a cure. Please contact me at amsteffe@purdue.edu if you have
questions, comments, or would like more information about the November 1st
race. On behalf of Team Hope and myself, I would like to thank you in advance
for your support.
Sincerely,
Alanna Steffen-Nelson |
