Walking to save homeless pets' lives...

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED!

You can Register at HES until 4 p.m. Saturday or day of the event at 1 p.m.

PAWS IN THE PARK is an action-packed Dog Walk Fundraiser you and your canine best friend won’t want to miss. This year’s event will be held on the beautiful and scenic Baylor School Campus on October 12th at 2 p.m. Walkers will hike along one of Baylor’s beautiful and picturesque trails surrounded by enchanting woods, mossy ponds and the scenic Tennessee River. Participants may bring their dogs or just walk to show their support for the Humane Educational Society’s Getting to Zero campaign to end euthanasia of treatable, adoptable and trainable shelter pets.

Bring your pooch and come walk for the animals! Ask your friends to join you or ask them to sponsor your walk! HEY ALL YOU “Cat Lovers” …WE LOVE CATS TOO! HES cares for over 200 cats daily! Walk unaccompanied and wear a picture of your kitty proudly pinned to your t-shirt!

If 750 people collected $10 from 10 friends, we could easily make it!! Pre-register now and let’s make all of Hamilton County a no kill zone!

FUN ACTIVITES

The walk begins with a Blessing of the Dogs and ends with the toe-tapping lively music of NO BIG DEAL .

We’ll have vendor display booths, fun for kids, awards,super prizes, and our famous Canine Contests. Contests include: best smile, fastest eater, best kisser, best dressed, most spirited (physically challenged), plus largest & smallest adult pooches!

Doggy demonstrations will top the bill in the dog rink, while additional activities take center stage, providing lots of fun for all.

You won’t want to miss this year’s Rescued Dog Reunion to recognize dogs rescued out of shelters and backyards in our community!

Rent-a-Shelter-Dog for the day and give him the chance to be seen by hundreds of potential adopters as well as have a ton of doggy fun! Call 423-624-5302 x228 by October 9th with donation of $50 to reserve one of 20 lucky doggies!

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

COST:

FREE - When you raise $100 in Pledges!

$15 - Unaccompanied Walker (no dog)

$25 - Individual Walker (with a dog)

$40 - Family Walkers (2 Adults, 2 Dogs + Children)

TIMES & GOODIES: Day of event registration begins at 1 p.m. Each individual walker receives a goodie bag that includes a t-shirt, special pooch bandana (unless walking unaccompanied) and some miscellaneous fun treats. Each family receives two goodie bags with registration!

PRE-REGISTER: Online registrants go to the front of the line by skipping registration for a super-speedy process! Just go directly to pick-up your goodie bag at the “pre-registered line” with a copy of your receipt (which will be emailed to you)! Registering online allows you to qualify for some super, awesome and super cool door prizes. A special pre-registered line opens at 1:15 pm. Deadline for online pre-registration is noon on Thursday, October, 9th.

RAISE THE MOST PLEDGES: Individuals and teams will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes for the most funds raised! Paws in the Park welcomes teams from your organization, business, work, school, church, or club. Raise $100 and registration is free and you receive a special gold bandana for your dog, too!

ASK FRIENDS TO HELP: Ask your friends online to sponsor your walk with pledges by clicking on “Invite others to Contribute”. Friends may also register the day of the event under your name or your team at 1 PM. (Just make sure they know to register under your name or your team’s name for you to qualify for most funds raised prizes!) If you'd rather collect pledges by hand, call 423-624-5302 x221 for a pledge sign-up sheet or to register by phone! Hand-collected donations can also be turned in the day of the event!

FUNDS RAISED GO TO:
1. Help to provide foster homes and medications for treatable animals
2. Bring in trainers and equipment to work with shelter animals and staff
3. Support local adoption programs
4. Fund the low-cost spay/neuter program to help reduce unwanted litters (this is especially important for low-income and elderly adopters)
5. Support HES construction projects, such as our “Going Cageless” Campaign, “Free-Roaming” Cat Rooms, as well as cage expansions, doggie play yards and the Humane Educational Center for Children where “kid kindness” training will teach children how to be kind to pets and people.

6. “Make a Contribution” (below) if you can’t participate but wish to donate to our Getting to Zero Campaign.
7. Make a Contribution to support a friend (if you can't participate with them) and our Getting to Zero Campaign. (enter your friend’s name above, then go to the “Make a Contribution” box at the bottom of your friend’s web page
