| On Saturday, May 6, 2006 the American Brain Tumor Association is holding a 5K walk/run to raise funds to further their research programs and to support the services ABTA offers to families.
Nearly 200,000 people are diagnosed with brain tumor every year. It affects all ages, genders and races. Brain tumor research is greatly underfunded. However, with increased awareness, support programs and advances in medical science, one day there will be a cure.
The walk/run will take place near Diversey Harbor, at Diversey Parkway and Lake Shore Drive West (east of Cannon Drive), starting at 10:00 a.m.
