| Join The Saint Paul Inline Marathon As We Raise $ For The Oval |
|
| This is where inline skating and ice skating converge. All winter long you see speedskating, figure skating, bandy and public skating. But when the ice melts, a giant slab of smooth concrete emerges and out come the inline skaters who race, play hockey, do stunt work or just learn to skate. On top of the weekly racing program, there have been numerous national level inline races held here as well. - - - - by keeping the Oval alive, we continue to expose ice skaters to inline and vice versa. - - - -
The John Rose Oval is an amazing skating resource in Minnesota and up until last June it was in serious jeopardy. The refrigeration system went down and needed a $400,000+ repair. Thankfully, the good folks at Guidant stepped in with a two prong solution to this problem. First they provided the Friends of The Oval with a gift of $500,000 to fix the "chiller" second they dedicated an additional $500,000 that is tethered to a matching grant. So, for every dollar that we receive as a donation, Guidant has matched it.
So please join the Saint Paul Inline Marathon in the effort to secure the future of the John Rose Oval. |
