Making A Difference Through Mentoring
Did you know that the chances of a poor Long Beach Latino ninth grader graduating from high school four years later is only 44%? Yet every OJS scholar graduates on time. Among all students in Long Beach, only 38% of graduates complete the A-G requirements for admission to a four-year college. Among our graduates it’s 90%! Operation Jump Start creates an educational avenue for children to escape their currently impoverished lives and create futures that will allow for their full economic and social participation in society.
With that said, please join me in support of OJS to continue their mission to provide structure and resources for the disadvantaged you to reach their full potential through a college education.
