| As both an OHEL Board Member and as someone who enjoys cycling, I am thrilled to be a part of Team OHEL, and to participate in the 2010 TD Bank 5 Boro NYC Bike Tour. OHEL -- a Bike NY Charity Partner-- provides a wide spectrum of much needed social service programs helping families in crisis, ranging from Children's Services such as Foster Care and Substance Abuse to Adult Mental Health Programs such as Supervised Community Residences to Psychiatric Outreach Teams. My direct affiliation with this charitable organization as a member of the Board of Directors for the past 20 years has been an inspirational and important part of our family's life.
This year, Team OHEL is helping to raise much needed funds to send children with profound disabilities to OHEL's spectacular camp and year round recreation programs, where they get a chance to relax just like any other child while receiving state of the art therapeutic play, caring counselors, and fabulous fun.
In addition, I have committed to doing this bike ride on Sunday May 2nd to help Ohel promote wellness and exercise in my community. I have already lost 15 lbs doing so! Anyone who donates a minimum of $100 will be mentioned in our blog: http://www.lionsdealblog.com/ with a link to their company.
