The OC Walk to Remember supports parents who have lost a baby or babies to pregnancy and infant loss.
Your donation of $10 will fund a memory box, so a parent will forever have memories of their baby.
Your donation of $20 will provide 4 books to a local hospital, so a mother has words of comfort following the delivery and death of her baby.
Your donation of $100 will provide music therapy, so a parent who has continued a pregnancy after a fatal diagnosis continues to get support.
Your donation of $500 will provide a camera and printer to a local hospital, so parents will forever have photographs of their child.
The OC Walk to Remember is an information center for nurses, doctors or anyone in the medical community who is in need of finding support for parents who have lost a baby. We also help parents find support groups, online support resources, books, counseling, or any other type of support they need after the loss of their baby or babies.
The money raised will benefit the national SHARE Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support organization, as well as several local hospitals and support groups:
St. Joseph Perinatal Hospice, which is dedicated to supporting parents who continue a pregnancy after their baby is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, provides nurses, social workers, music therapy, chaplain services, and many other support resources. They are there for the parents from diagnosis through the bereavement process, and the money raised will help fund those programs.
Funds raised will also benefit Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), St. Jude Medical Center, Saddleback Memorial Hospital, Anaheim Memorial Hospital, and UCI Medical Center's memory box programs, so every parent has a memory box with footprints, clothing, blankets, and support information when they leave the hospital.
Several hospitals and local support groups will receive donations of books of inspiration and support after the loss of a baby. A collection of books will be given to each hospital's labor and delivery unit and available to mothers, fathers and other family members following the death of a baby.
The SHARE Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support organization serves parents around the country those whose lives are touched by the tragic death of a baby through early pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or in the first few months of life. |
