TEAM TSA New Mexico In Memory of Zachary Hollis
One Lap Closer To A Cure!
In memory of Zachary Hollis, the national TEAM TSA will once again participate in the New Mexico Marathon on Aug. 31, 2008.

Zak lived with his parents in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was a true champion of TSA. Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of 8, Zak always sought opportunities to raise awareness about this inherited neurological disorder. Zak volunteered his time to the TSA selflessly. He served as an editor of the TSA Children’s Newsletter and each year, eagerly looked forward to traveling to Washington D.C. to meet personally with his elected officials to educate them and put a real face on what it meant to have Tourette Syndrome. A kind, cheerful and gentle young man, in his all too brief 16 years, undeniably he touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his positive outlook, exceptional warmth, contagious smile and quick wit.

TS is characterized by involuntary sudden movements and vocalizations, known as tics, which occur repeatedly. What causes TS is not yet fully understood, and to date, a cure has not been found.

TSA is the only national voluntary non-profit membership organization in this field. Its mission is to identify the cause, find the cure and control the effects of this often misunderstood disorder. TSA oversees its Research Fund which provides grants to highly qualified scientists in major universities and research centers as they strive to uncover the mysteries of TS in relentless pursuit of its cause and cure.

TEAM TSA members run, walk or cycle to benefit more than just their own health. With every step they help TSA get One Lap Closer To A Cure!

Please join with us in honoring the memory of Zachary Hollis. Your support can make a difference!
