|
| New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. (LAA) is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to very low-income individuals in the greater New Haven area. Incorporated in 1964, LAA was one of the first legal services programs in the United States and the federal government used it as a model for similar programs throughout the country. Our seventeen attorneys and four paralegals help victims of domestic violence; children in abuse and neglect proceedings; elderly people facing collection agencies and nursing home problems; tenants facing homelessness as a result of the foreclosure actions against their landlords; people with disabilities who need social security benefits; workers who were not paid the wages they earned; and many more. Unfortunately, for every client we are able to help there are many more who have serious legal problems, cannot afford a lawyer and are unable to effectively represent themselves. Your support will enable to us to provide greater access to justice.
Please join us at the 35th Stratton Faxon New Haven Road Race! If you cannot run with us, please consider making a donation or becoming a fundraiser.
Donate or raise $250 and receive a complimentary entry. Please email jordyn.jbsports@snet.net for more information. |
