National & Global Youth Service Day
5k Walk to Benefit Under-served Youth

What is the event?
Join Volunteer San Diego’s SAVY (Students Actively Volunteering for You) Leaders at Mission Trails Park on April 21st for a 5K Walk in honor of National and Global Youth Service Day (NGYSD). Help raise money for education! Funds collected at this event will go towards the SAVY mini-grant program: student-led projects to benefit and empower underserved youth in education. Organizations and students in San Diego County can apply for a grant.

Who are SAVY Leaders?
The SAVY Leaders are Volunteer San Diego’s youth leadership council. These forty high school students meet regularly to plan National Days of Service and promote youth volunteerism through the year.

What is NGYSD?
NGYSD is a day in which community service organizations throughout the world participate in service activities. The purpose of NGYSD is to both encourage youth to live a life of civic engagement and educate the public about the value of youth working as community leaders
