| I've decided to run a half marathon! My dear friends have inspired me to help raise awareness and support for research for NF. Their son, Denver, is affected by NF, as are several members of Katy's family. Here is an excerpt from Katy's fundraising page:
"Our son, Denver was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) at his 15 month check-up appointment. I remember that even though I have grown up with NF, my first reaction was concern and helplessness. I wanted to cry. I didn’t want Denver to have this, even though I knew already in the back of my mind that he did. His particular case seems mild at the present time, but only time can tell.
Not to bore you with all the details, I’ll get right to the main point. Denver is affected with this disease, and we as his parents, family and friends will do all in our power to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis."
Please help support me in the marathon! It takes place in San Antonio, November 15th, 2009. We will be running in the Rock and Roll San Antonio Marathon and Half Marathon. In order to help find a cure, we have to raise awareness and funds for research. The Children’s Tumor Foundation is the leading organization coordinating research for NF. A great way to help is to make a donation…all proceeds go towards solving the NF puzzle (research) and are tax deductible! Check out Team Denver's page....

Below is a video from the Children’s
Tumor Foundation that demonstrates how your support benefits nearly
2 million people worldwide that are affected by Neurofibromatosis. I
hope you’ll please take a few minutes to watch the video and perhaps
be as motivated as we are to support The Children’s Tumor
Foundation.
