Me after 2007 ING Georgia Marathon.... I am tired, sore, very happy, and ready to go run another 26.2 miles! |
|
|
| Hey! I am Anne, and I have a rare genetic disorder, Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), which I found out about when I was 7. Every case of NF is different, as it can cause tumors to grow anywhere in the body; most people with NF2 become deaf from the bilateral auditory nerve tumors. In March 2007, I ran my first full marathon, yes, 26.2 miles, at ING Georgia Marathon, with the NF Marathon Team! (Southern girl, from Atlanta) Just 10 days later, I became fully deaf in April last year when I had my second auditory nerve tumor removed. Last fall, I transferred to RIT / NTID, in Rochester, NY, and it is awesome! (other than the freezing winters, but spring has finally come!) Now, I am running the Long Island 1/2 Marathon with Krissy's NF Team on May 4th. Please help me raise money for research, so that a cure can be found for NF! I also plan to do NYC Marathon this fall! ....and Boston, someday! :)
"I love to run! It is fun!" - me |

Below is a video from the Children’s
Tumor Foundation that demonstrates how your support benefits nearly
2 million people worldwide that are affected by Neurofibromatosis. I
hope you’ll please take a few minutes to watch the video and perhaps
be as motivated as we are to support The Children’s Tumor
Foundation.
