Who will get pied on May 2nd? The next race up is the Long Island 1/2 Marathon, with 31 people already signed up with the NF Endurance Team! Just to add some crazy little fun incentive to raise money for NF, I am up against my friend... and co-captain, Krissy, to see who can raise the most money, and the "losing" (fund-raised amount not race time clock) will get PIED IN THE FACE AFTER THE RACE, AND PICTURES WILL BE POSTED! HELP ME TO GET KRISSY PIED... DONATE NOW!!!! 100% of donations go to NF, not the pie! :-)

My name is Anne Shigley. I was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 at the age of 7. I had my first surgery at age 9, and then lost my residual hearing from NF2 in 2005, and in 2007 I got my Auditory Brainstem Implant... which is amazing and has changed my life! I am happy to be able to hear my parents say "I love you!" on the telephone, and lots more, even though I am now deaf. I am from Atlanta, but I am at school at Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, NY.

About 1 in 3,000 are affected by NF1. About 1 in 25,000 are affected by NF2. (what I have.) About 1 in 40,000 are affected by Schwannamatosis.

NF is not the end of anything for me... it is more like an adventure. If it were not for NF I would have never had learned about the beauty of sign language, perhaps I would have had not run as much, and I certainly would have had never met all the awesome people that I have met because of NF.

In 2010, I plan to run the following races with the NF Endurance Team:

March 21 - ING Georgia Marathon - for Kate T., Kate S., Drew, and many others! - FINISHED the 26.2 mile run in 4:40! NFET had over 100 people at race and raised $51,816 for NF!! I raised over $2,000 of that myself, and my goal for the year is $10,000!
May 2 - Long Island 1/2 Marathon - for Krissy!
Summer- no finalized plans at this time, but where ever I am, I'll be running!
Fall- NYC Marathon, if I get an entry, or maybe Chicago.

A donation of one dollar per mile of Anne’s marathon would be $26.20. Ten dollars per mile run would be $262. Twenty dollars per mile would be $524.

With God's help, and yours, we will help solve the neurofibromatosis puzzle.
