Welcome To Matt’s Man of the Year Page!
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 2008 Man & Woman of the Year Candidate

This is my aunt Jean Wallace and me at the 95th restaurant in Chicago about six months before she started to battle Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The picture was taken by my wife Bronwyn, whose family has had three generations affected by leukemia.

I have been nominated as a candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year campaign. I am very excited about this honor and truly feel this is my opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people affected by leukemia, lymphoma and blood cancers throughout our world.

I ask that you join me by making a contribution to my fundraising campaign. Each dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most donations is named our local Man or Woman of the Year. I am raising money in honor of my aunt Jean Wallace, Bronwyn's family & our future children as well as local patients. All the candidates truly hope to make blood cancers a thing of the past. I have listed contribution levels above; however, all donations are greatly appreciated. Your donation is tax deductible and 75 cents of every dollar goes directly towards research. The remaining 25% supports patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services.

Please help me make a difference and find a cure. My campaign manager Carole Stadfield was a 2002 Man & Woman of the Year candidate. She was in a medical trial for Gleevec at the time and is now in remission. Be sure to visit this website and mcleanchamber.org often to check on my progress. You can also call me at 703-356-5424 if you have other ideas on ways to help my work. Please ask your friends to support my efforts! If you tell two people and they tell two people about our work we will be well down the path to a cure! Join me and help support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Thank you!
