| To celebrate my 10-year anniversary of "Day Zero" (my bone marrow transplant), I have accepted a nomination to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2008 "Man & Woman of the Year" fundraising campaign and am training to participate in the 140.6 mile Lake Placid Ironman on July 20.
From April 10th - June 14, I will be trying to raise the most money among the candidates in the Man & Woman of the Year fundraising competition and trying to help the National Capital Area chapter of the Society raise a record $1 million. I have set an extremely ambitious fundraising goal for my campaign -- $140.6K. This is the number of miles in the Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run =140.6 miles).
