| Joe's Race to Cure Crohn's & Colitis |

| So I'm at it again! I'm training for my sixth and seventh half marathons - Boston and Napa in June and July respectively. I'm running to raise awareness of Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis and also trying to raise funds to help find a cure.
I've been personally touched by this mysterious disease as one of my good friends was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and is now subject to taking preventative measures (such as daily medications and adhering to a specialized diet) for the rest of his life to prevent flare ups. Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the intestines primarily causing ulcerations (breaks in the lining) of the small and large intestines. Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease affect approximately 500,000 to two million people in the United States.
