Fighting Crohn's and colitis one marathon at a time
Update 6/23/2010~ We have been busy running and planning for our next fundraising event. We hope to see everyone at the Big Bash this Saturday! We will be running our longest run yet that morning,10 miles around White Bear Lake. The Tenacious 3 thanks you for all of your love and support, we couldn't have made it this far without you.

Update~ Phew, training for Napa is hard work!! Along with the wine drinking, we have been working hard on our running. We are diligently running 5 days a week and we are up to 7 miles! Fundraising is going well, but we still have a long way until we reach $9000. Please consider donating to a great cause or come check out one of our great fundraisers!

Thank you for stopping at our site! You've just taken your first step in helping us fight Crohn's and colitis.

Last December Julia ran her first 1/2 marathon in honor of her mom who has lived with Crohn's disease for more than 36 years. After a triumphant run in Vegas that ended successfully, surpassing her team's fundraising goal by 15%, she decided she hadn't had enough. The fight isn't over. This year's annual Team Challenge 1/2 marathon is just around the corner on July 18th. Could Julia do it alone? Of course not!

She recruited her loving boyfriend Mike--nursing student by day, marathon trainer by night and her long time high school friend Lali, an avid runner since 8th grade. Armed with Mike and Lali by her side, the trio is out to raise even more.

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are known together as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Painful and medically incurable, these illnesses attack the digestive system. It is estimated that over 1.4 million American’s have IBD, however many more suffer in silence.

By participating in this 1/2 marathon we are hoping to raise $9,000 to go towards the Crohn’s and colitis Foundation. 80% of every dollar raised will directly fund the mission to cure Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by inflammatory bowel disease.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our story and cause. We are ready to fight this disease with our endurance and our sneakers, but we will need your help. Take the next step and make a donation. Every cent counts. Your generosity and support are invaluable to our cause! Stay tuned for updates on our training and fundraisers that will knock your socks off!
