Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic and debilitating digestive diseases affecting 1.4 million American adults and children. Chances are, there are hundreds of—if not thousands—of Morning Express with Robin Meade viewers out there who are affected by Crohn’s and colitis. Hearing about this, I wanted to do something to help the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in its mission to fund critical research to find better therapies and ultimately a cure, and to provide much-needed education and support.

So on Sunday, July 19th, along with hundreds of others from across the country, I’m going to cross the finish line at the Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon with the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Team Challenge program. This endurance training program is helping me get ready to run 13.1 miles while I help raise critical dollars for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.

More than 80 cents out of every dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to research, education and support services making it one of the top non-profit organizations in the country. In addition, CCFA has funded over 1,100 grants and has trained more than four generations of researchers, leading to every major breakthrough in Crohn’s and colitis research over the past 40 years. It is of critical importance that this ground breaking research does not stop.

Please join me in helping to find a cure for Crohn’s and colitis by making a financial contribution, or visit www.ccteamchallenge.org to find out about how you can get involved in this awareness and fundraising program.

Thank you!
