My personal achievement of crossing the finish line was only a small part of it...

Still can't believe I did it!!

I can't believe I ran it! It was so amazing. I'm not trying to be cheesy...but...I was an emotional basket case all weekend. I learned a lot about Crohns. I met many people living with the disease and heard heartbreaking stories. I also heard many stories of triumph.

Team Challenge is unbelievable. They got me from non-runner to 13.1 miles. They cheered as I walked into the field for the inspirational pasta dinner. They slipped notes under my hotel door saying "You can do this, Dawn!" They were "cheerleaders" at points along the race. They taught me a lot about Crohns.

A fellow runner told me about his dad living with Crohns his whole life. And his younger sister diagnosed 5 yrs ago. He said that he and his sister had different experiences due to research and education..like CCFA has funded. Wow. Yep, I cried again!.

Crohn's & Colitis are painful, medically incurable digestive diseases. More and more children are being diagnosed at young ages. The nature of this disease is life altering and embarrassing.

I trained hard for this run. I'm really proud to be a part of this. I hope you'll join me and share in this feeling of making a difference.
