The Bring Home Our Son Fund
Bringing Home Murat, One Donation at a Time!
My name is Temple Post and I work for a company called World Partners Adoption that coordinates overseas adoptions from countries such as Kazakhstan, China, Guatemala, Ukraine and Ethiopia. Over my six years with the company, I have witnessed thousands of orphaned children come home to the loving families that they all deserved. Unfortunately, I have also seen several children that haven’t been so lucky and these children will always hold a special place in my heart. About a year ago, some pictures of one such child came across my desk. His name is Murat and he lives in an orphanage in Kazakhstan where he patiently waits for his forever family. Since receiving his pictures, this little guy has managed to work his way into the hearts of myself and my husband, Rusty. On May 23rd, 2008, we both came to the realization that Murat was our son, living nearly half a world away! Since that time, we have made a commitment to him, ourselves, and our daughter, Ellison, to raise enough money to complete his adoption and bring him home - where he belongs! Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and read up on our journey. And thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers! Murat has a rare disorder called Septo Optic Dysplasia, in addition to nystagmus (rapid, involuntary to-and-fro movement of the eyes) and strabismus (lazy eye). For a long time, Murat was said to be blind, however, his caregivers now agree that he does have some sight. Sadly, Murat's doctors recently placed a label of possible mental retardation on him - a diagnosis which will condemn him to an asylum or institution for the mentally handicapped when he ages out of the baby house in two years. My husband and I feel strongly that this is a misdiagnosis, and whether true or not, we feel that we are more than ready to take on Murat's special needs. As my husband said, "he is our son and he is in trouble...we have to get him home!" So today, we are writing to ask for your help. Whether it be in the form of a donation, or a prayer, or just simply by spreading the word - any and all help will be much appreciated by all of us, especially the little guy! Thank you
