| Keep on Cycling for your Local MS Chapter.
The MS Great 8 Foundation was born from two cyclists who have had their lives changed by Multiple Sclerosis forever. Catherine Tsigakos is a primary caregiver for her brother Peter who was diagnosed with MS over twenty years ago. He has been relegated to a wheelchair for the last 11 years and now lives his dreams of travel and adventure through his sister’s passion for cycling. Mike Zimits was diagnosed with MS nearly eleven years ago and began cycling at that time in an effort to “fight back” and not let Multiple Sclerosis keep him from his future. He is an active MS Lifelines Ambassador (since 2004) and very good friend of Catherine and her brother.
Now the important part: We Want You to Join Us!
There’s no need to let the good times and fundraising efforts end with your chapter’s ride. Join us on any of the scheduled MS Great 8 rides and continue to help put an end to Multiple Sclerosis while still raising funds for your home chapter! It is important to note that the MS Great 8 is a not-for-profit organization that relies only on its' sponsors as its source for organizational funding. All contributions made by individuals go directly to the MS Society without any overhead or expense allocation (with the exception of credit card fees). It is important for your contributors to know that all of their dollars are going to help fight Multiple Sclerosis.
Please feel free visit the foundation’s website at www.msgreat8.org to see the 2008 program, more details surrounding the mission, and photos of the various rides and the people that we have met. This past year saw people traveling from places as far as Switzerland, England, and Canada in order to join in the battle against MS. They came with their bikes and rode with their hearts. We all made a difference!
In closing, we would just like to thank you for supporting the National MS Society and continuing to give all of us living with MS hope for the future. We also thank you for giving folks like us the opportunity to "give something back" and help change the direction of MS forever. |
