This summer, I/we have signed up to race in the two big MiracleKids Triathlon events held in Minneapolis and Chanhassen. The races motivate kids to form the habit of being outside more, exercising and getting more fit. Doing the race is also pretty cool, especially the feeling of crossing the finish line with all those people cheering after racing really hard.
But this race isn't really about winning the race for personal glory and that's what this E-mail is all about... right now there are several hundred Minnesota kids who have cancer and many of them are too sick to race so we MiracleKids do the racing for them. We do that by racing with the name of a real cancer kid marked on our calf. Plus, we do even more to help these kids by raising funds for the Miracles of Mitch Foundation. The foundation uses the dollars we raise to help these families with grants to cover things like house and car payments, utilities, and groceries, so hopefully, parents can spend a little more time with their kids while going through their treatments.
As a reward for our fund-raising efforts, we have a chance to win some fun prizes, but the real satisfaction comes from just racing your best and knowing you did something nice for someone who's going through a pretty tough time.
The MiracleKids Triathlon is the biggest fund-raiser of the year for the Miracles of Mitch foundation. Will you please help with a pledge?
Every little bit makes a difference and helps make all the miles of swimming, biking and running even more worth it.
Thanks,
