Thunder for the Miller Family
Kim Miller was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in October of 2008 at the young age of 29 and fought a courageous battle for 10 months before her passing in August of 2009. Kim is survived by her husband Deron, son Dylan (8 years old) and daughters Kyrstin (6 years old) and Deanna (18 years old). Kim’s husband, Deron is a Sergeant for the Goodyear Police Department and her brother, Scott Gwaltney and numerous uncles and cousins are Phoenix Firefighters.

The Miller’s were chosen by the Phoenix Thunder Football Team to be the beneficiary of their 2009 Fundraiser. The funds raised will be placed in a college fund for Dylan and Kyrstin.

The Phoenix Thunder is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization of firefighters and police officers from across the valley who compete in tackle football games to raise money for children in need. The Thunder competes in the National Public Safety Football League, a league consisting of 24 teams of public safety professionals. These teams are from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and several other major markets from across the country. Each team in the N.P.S.F.L. plays to raise money for the charities of their choosing.

Please visit Kim’s blog at kimfightscancer.blogspot.com to read about Kim’s incredible journey and to be inspired by her positive attitude and fighting spirit. You will also be inspired by how this public safety family all pulled together to support one another during this difficult time.

**All donations in increments of $25 will automatically be entered in a raffle for the Phoenix FBR Open on the 16th Green Sky Box for February 22-28, 2010. This includes two tickets for everday of the event.**
