| Update May 13 2008: We have decided to withdraw from the 2009 Transrockies Run with a looming June 1 registration deadline. The reason for withdrawal is a recurring knee injury that has afflicted Laura since her Napa marathon and has prevented us from following our training schedule. We plan to continue our training, and hopefully register for the 2010 Transrockies. We thank everybody for their support and encourage you to continue to support Hope Runs!
Welcome to Mike and Laura’s fundraising website, benefiting Hope Runs. We have committed ourselves to competing in the TransRockies Endurance Run, a six-day, 113-mile (with 25,000 feet of elevation gain!) race across the Continental Divide.
As part of this adventure, we are raising funds for a small non-profit organization called Hope Runs. This organization uses athletics, and particularly long-distance running, to improve the lives and communities of AIDS orphans in Kenya and Tanzania. We encourage you to check out their website at hoperuns.org to learn more about this unique organization!
Our goal is to raise funds for Hope Runs, who will serve as our sponsor in the event. Both we and Hope Runs will greatly appreciate any donation you can offer. Please visit our blog for updates on our training and fundraising progress as we work toward our goals! |
