| Couple of weeks ago I got a letter in mail stating that I was nominated for a Classic Man & Woman of the Year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Classic Man & Woman of the Year is a campaign to raise funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. What a surprise it was. Being always on a run, trying to invest fully into my career, social life and studies, I rarely have any free time, however I agreed to go to the introductory meeting and see what it was all about.
Meeting people there that were directly affected by Leukemia really touched my heart. It was more than a printed word anymore, but a life testimony filled with emotions, that could not have left me untouched. Every 10 minutes, I was told, a victim of Leukemia looses the battle. What is the meaning of 10 minutes for me? What do I get accomplished? What a statistic, what a shocking truth.
Following week I met a boy named Nicholas. I am writing on behalf of Nicholas, a 13 year old survivor of Leukemia, as well as many others, who have been diagnosed, treated, healed, or the ones who have left us behind. I am asking for your donation to support my fundraising campaign, as well as the cause behind it.
