Accelerating Cures, Saving Lives!

I am training to participate in the Nike Women’s Marathon, A Race to Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

I'm completing this marathon to honor Arya, my dear friend Swati's son. On July 22 2006, one week before his 8th birthday in July 2006, Arya was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The last year has been tough on Arya and his family. I appreciate Arya's grit and determination to face the treatment bravely. He is now in remission, though he will be going for chemo for the next two years.

Sadly, thousands of children are diagnosed with leukemia each year. This is devastating for the families and to us! Thanks to research funded by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and you, the survival rate is at 86% today!
