| Five years ago, the Ascent School for Children with Autism lost its school lease. The Mansion Ride was created in order to help them build within a new lease space. In September of 2002, the Ascent School opened its new doors, thanks in great part to the Mansion Ride. The Mansion Ride is an all volunteer effort. Additionally, through much hard work, we get every product, prize and service donated, so every dollar you donate goes to the cause.
Ascent School is a legal charity. It has been written about in the NY Times, Newsday and many other media outlets in praise of the work and the concerted fiscal responsibility.
Children at Ascent School are learning to be the best that they can be. Meeting their own potential. For some it means being able to eat on their own and gaining bathroom independence. For others, Ascent is helping them to transition into a regular school district and giving job skills that will lead them to being a functioning member of society. At Ascent children are learning to speak, and to recognize their parents.
The organizers and creators of the Mansion Ride would like you to know that they are not related to anyone at the Ascent School. It is their work and ethics that continue to fuel our participation. Please join us and know that you are supporting the best charity we've ever known.
