Thank you for deciding to help support The Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis Foundation. You are just in time as the race for CCFA is in Las Vegas on December 6th. I decided to help this cause because my sister-in-law Stephanie Baysinger has been fighting Ulcerative Colitis for many years. I need your help to raise funds for research leading to improved treatment options and ultimately a cure for ulcerative colitis. Funds also go to help children with the disease, by sending them to a camp to learn more and interact with other children like them. On top of trying to raise $3500, I will be competing in the 13.1-mile run on December 6, 2009, to raise funds and awareness.
TEAM CHALLENGE Website www.ccteamchallenge.org
Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are collectively known as inflammatory bowel diseases. Crohn's disease is a chronic (ongoing) disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It is estimated that as many as 1.4 million Americans have IBD; however, many more suffer in silence due to potential embarrassment and alienation.
Together, we can make a difference! It only takes $5 a week for one year to send a sick child to camp. Even $5 can help a child living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease meet other children like them in a supportive environment. CCFA not only searches for a cure, but also provides care and resources for those currently in need.
That's my goal. That's my mission. to raise money, to help send a child to Camp Oasis (http://www.ccfa.org/kidsteens/) hosted by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation and see a cure and improved treatment options for children and adults (like my sister-in-law) with these diseases.
I hope you agree with me about the importance of this cause. Please help support me, Stephanie and 1.4 million others by giving.
Thank you!
