Welcome to my Light The Night Walk homepage. The Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's nationwide walk to raise awareness and funds to cure leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

COME JOIN ME IN THE WALK OR DONATE TO CELEBRATE MY 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT!! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helps fund researchers who are searching for a cure so no one else will have to go through what I went through. I was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia at 26 years old. One day I was living a normal life, the next day I was fighting for my life. I was in the hospital 3 months and had major complications which resulted in me having an unrelated Bone Marrow Transplant. I was hospitalized for another month, had full body radiation, and high doses of chemotherapy. I was then isolated for a year and had to wear gloves and a mask whenever I was around other people. I now suffer from late term side effects and have to be vigilant about secondary cancers as well as other problems resulting from the chemo and radiation. Just in the past 5 years, with the help of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, researchers have found some treatments that are less intense and have fewer side effects than the treatment that I had. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over. I would not have been able to make it through without the love and support of my family, friends, and Core Medical Group. CMG has been wonderful with their support of raising funds and awareness for the LLS. Last year, our team raised $30,000!!! This year, we’re trying for $35,000 and more people walking. It means so much to me, it touches my heart, to see so many people out there walking and supporting people affected by cancer and raising money for a cure!
Did you know that:
Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer: Every ten minutes, someone loses the fight.
Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children.
Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers.
The myeloma survival rate is only 32 percent.
Please make a donation to support my participation in the Light The Night Walk. By doing so, we’ll both be helping save lives. Thanks for your support!
